Idil A. Bilgin, OD
Dr. Bilgin is an optometrist with a special interest in pediatrics, contact lenses, and vision therapy. She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she graduated with high honors. Dr. Bilgin completed her optometric training at The Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, where she graduated with clinical honors in pediatrics and contact lenses and was a member of the distinguished Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. She was also active in the Volunteer Optometrists Service to Humanity group where she traveled to Mexico to provide eye care to those who do not have access to proper health care services. She furthered her pediatric training by completing a residency in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision at the State University of New York, State College of Optometry in New York City.
Dr. Bilgin served as a full time Assistant Clinical Professor at the SUNY College of Optometry and as a part time faculty member at the Berkeley School of Optometry in California. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and active member of the American Optometric Association and held the position as the Clinical Director for the Special Olympics Lions Clubs International Opening Eyes Vision Screening program in New York City for 3 years.
Dr. Bilgin sees adult and pediatric patients for comprehensive examinations, routine and more challenging contact lens fittings including keratoconus and vision therapy consultations.
Dr. Bilgin lives in New Jersey with her husband and 2 young children. She loves being an optometrist, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.
